You pause in your hike as something suddenly catches your eye. It's running across the prairie at an incredible speed-you guess about 30 mph. Then it stops, and it's close enough for you to get a good look, but you're glad it's still a fair distance away, because it's huge, standing about six feet high and about 10 feet long. It's a bison, one of the few that now roam the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, though they used to number in the millions.Like the number of bison, the preserve itself used to be much bigger, covering over 170,000,000 acres. Now it's only 4 percent of its original size, but it still offers over 40 miles of hiking and nature trails. With its depiction of a majestic bison against a vast prairie background, suggesting its once massive area and inhabitants, this is a medallion that is worthy of a place on your hiking stick.Product DetailsDimensions: 1'' W x 1 3/4'' HIncludes three nailsDesigned and finished in the USA
